TDT was a great first impression, everyone's amazing and super helpful. Personally i had Scott as my trainer and assessor when completing my Heavy Rigid truck licence.  He was absolutely amazing, super friendly and talkative which helped with nerves as well as being super clear and simple with all of his instructions. Which ultimately made it super easy to drive without stressing about anything. Scott is really polite but really straight to the point, which I think is great. Thank you Scott and thank you tdt😃

Hi, I’ve done my HC with Ronnie he’s  very helpful and polite. I had wonderful experience while training. I haven’t issue with communication with trainer, although I highly recommend to upgrade the all type of licenses. Thanks

Had a great experience with TDT Driving School Australia. Ash is an excellent trainer—very supportive, patient, and professional throughout the whole process. My experience with TDT Training was excellent; I highly recommend my instructor, Ron, for his exceptional support. A huge thank you to David for helping me successfully get my HR licence! I was extremely nervous before my driving test, but David was incredibly patient, supportive and positive throughout the whole training session. He explained everything clearly and gave me plenty of opportunities to practise until I felt comfortable and confident. Thanks to his guidance and encouragement, I became much more confident and relaxed, and the test felt so much easier and more manageable. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):

• RPL facilitates the progression of candidates through Qualifications by giving advanced standing for learning outcomes they already have achieved or competency they can demonstrate as already being held.

Overview

Course Overview

This unit involves the skills and knowledge pate required to load and unload goods and/or cargo. It includes loading and unloading goods and cargo, securing and protecting a load and completing all required documentation in accordance with relevant state or territory roads and traffic authority regulations and permit requirements. Work is performed under general supervision within a team environment. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Duration & Volume of Learning

• • 30 hours Total

    Full day* Theory (3 hours) & workplace simulation & practical observation (5 hours) *A learner must have some prior skills and knowledge of securing goods and cargo. If not, then the learner is expected to engage in unsupervised self-study for about 3 hours per day for 6 days prior to attempting the assessments.

What Will You Learn in This Course?

• This qualification equips learners with the essential skills and knowledge to work as a professional driver in the transport and logistics industry.
  You will learn to:

  • Conduct vehicle inspections and operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Apply safe manual handling practices when shifting or loading/unloading goods.
  • Follow work health and safety (WHS) procedures and apply fatigue management strategies.
  • Develop safe heavy vehicle driving behaviours and comply with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements.
  • Apply critical thinking, use digital technologies, and collaborate effectively in the workplace.
  • Implement and monitor WHS policies and manage your personal work priorities and professional development.

Individual Unit of competency: $595 per student

Note: A minimum of 10 students are required to run the course.

Training & Education Pathways: After achieving this unit of competency students may undertake a range of associated construction, resources, logistics and warehousing units and qualifications.

Employment Pathways: After achieving this unit of competency students may seek employment in warehousing, manufacturing, construction, resources and transport industries.
