TDT Training Australia was started by Dave Roberts in 1996, who – after spending many years in transport and millions of kilometres on the road – decided to use his experience to start a training organisation. When the business first started, it focused primarily on truck licensing but it was soon evident to Dave that there was a strong demand for additional services and delivery in rural locations.

Dr Brett Roberts joined TDT Training Australia in 2008 and took over as CEO in 2014. Previously to joining TDT he had forged his own successful career in science, working as a synthetic chemistry researcher/lecturer at Monash University before taking up a post with the American Chemical Society, educating his peers and travelling around the world.

On becoming CEO, Brett realised he needed to develop his own skills in running a business and completed diplomas in Marketing, Business and Management, followed by a Masters in Management. To gain a better understanding of TDT’s core focus, he obtained his truck licences (HC), forklift and CI card, had a stint as a Worksafe assessor as well as obtaining his certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

 
He has a passion for training and development, and a focus on ensuring that TDT Training Australia continue to deliver training and assessment above and beyond. Brett brings a strong analytical approach to his management ventures and as CEO, with his team have taken a small organisation and grown it into a medium enterprise which is now one of the largest educational (licensing) providers in the country. He thrives on growing a business, getting the most out of those around him and pushing his team to be their best possible self.
