A Project Administrator is the backbone of many teams in the transport, logistics and agriculture industries. The demand for this skill set is real, and the day to day work is practical rather than theoretical. Many Project Administrators go on to build toward full Project Manager roles once they've got the experience behind them.
TDT Training Australia (CRICOS Provider Code 04446D) does not guarantee employment, a particular salary, a visa outcome, permanent residency or any migration outcome as a result of completing this course. Course and career information on this page is general in nature and should be confirmed with TDT directly before you apply.
This page is not migration advice. TDT is not a registered migration agent, and you should seek advice from a registered migration agent or the Department of Home Affairs for anything related to visas.
A Project Administrator supports project managers and teams by coordinating contracts, schedules, paperwork and reporting. It's a nationally recognised occupation on the Australian Government's skilled occupation list, with more than 100,000 people already working in the role across Australia.
For an international student, that makes it a genuine study to career pathway rather than just a line on a certificate. The skills you build in the classroom are the same skills employers are asking for right now.
Program or Project Administrator sits at ANZSCO Skill Level 2 on the Core Skills Occupation List. That is the same level as TDT's BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business and BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management.
This is a course and occupation skill level comparison only. It is not a claim about visa eligibility, skilled migration or any migration outcome.
There are three ways to get there, and the Certificate IV is not a required first step. You can start working after the Certificate IV alone, combine both courses, or apply for the Diploma directly if you already meet its entry requirements.
The Certificate IV alone lists Project Administrator and Office Coordinator as employment outcomes, so you can start working as soon as you finish it.
Doing the Certificate IV first builds a solid base before the Diploma, and some units may carry across as credit.
The Diploma has its own entry requirements, a Year 12 level education and an IELTS 6.0 result, so you can apply directly without studying the Certificate IV first.
Australia gives international students a nationally recognised qualification, real classroom support, and a direct line into industries that are short on skilled people. That combination is hard to find in one place.
Fees are published on TDT's international course pages and cover tuition, enrolment and materials. Prices are current as of August 2026 and may change, so always check the course page before applying.
Both courses are delivered full time, on campus at Hallam. Laptop and software costs are not included in either fee.
Project administrator vacancies show up across many industries, not just one. Three areas stand out right now because of how short they are on skilled coordination staff.
Fleet and freight operators need people who can manage schedules, contracts and compliance paperwork.
Warehousing and storage employment has grown 23 percent since 2020, and coordination roles are growing with it.
Australia is short around 38,000 agricultural workers, and farms need office and project support as much as field staff.
These sectors employ the largest share of Project Administrators nationally, according to Jobs and Skills Australia.
The Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council reports that 78 percent of logistics employers cannot find enough qualified candidates for coordination roles. That gap is exactly what this study pathway is built to fill.
Project administrator duties centre on keeping a project organised behind the scenes. You handle the paperwork and the reporting so a project manager can focus on the bigger decisions.
