This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.
On successful completion of this course, a learner will be issued with the following statement of attainment:

Current industry standards recommend renewing this certification every 3 years with the CPR component being updated every 12 months.
(The LLND assessment is utilised to assess if a student has the ability to complete the training at the required level of competency and for TDT to assess the level of support required in this regard in order to provide the student with a reasonable opportunity to complete the unit of competency. The LLND assessment usually takes place during the pre-training review, where support needs are assessed and plans are put into place to achieve the best outcome for the student)

All candidates are provided with advice on employment and training options throughout the delivery of the program.
There are no pre-requisites to enrol in this unit of competency. Anyone who meets entry requirements can enrol in this unit of competency.
Pathways from the unit of competency
After attaining a statement of attainment, students may enrol in other First Aid units of competency (eg. HTLAID010 or HLTAID012)
To apply for this course, you are simply required to take up an LLND test and complete an enrolment form. You will be asked for a Valid USI number (Unique student Identifier) at the time of enrolment without which statement of attainment will not be issued.
