A Safe Load Program will benefit anyone working in a company or industry in which their role requires them to pack, store, handle and transport dangerous goods. The licence ensures that dangerous goods are properly handled so it does not pose a risk to your business, employees and the public.

The Safe Load Program (SLP) is an industry-standard training and assessment program designed for drivers accessing fuel terminals or depots to load bulk fuel tankers. Developed with safety experts across Australia, this program ensures all drivers are trained to safely handle dangerous goods, follow terminal protocols, and manage risks related to static electricity, emergency response, and fuel transfer. SLP training is essential for safety compliance across sectors such as petroleum, logistics, chemical transport, mining, and waste management.

Trainees are introduced to the SLP Switch Load Table, which outlines the correct safety steps to take when switching from one fuel product to another before loading. This ensures safety, prevents contamination, and complies with terminal requirements.
SLP Load Training Workbook for use during and after training
Step 1: Apply via the SLP portal to receive an SLP ID number
Step 2: Attend training (in-person or virtual)
Step 3: ID & licence verification by trainer
Step 4: Complete independent online assessment
Step 5: Receive SLP ID card via post within 10 business days
