36 months from the date on the Statement of Attainment (Annual renewal of CPR certification is recommended)

Course Fee:

The costs for this unit of competency is AUD $95 which is payable at the time of enrolment. Note: You must pay full course fee prior to course commencement. Non-payment of fees may result in cancellation of your enrolment.

Note: every learner attending this course must have a physical ability to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council  (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

On successful completion of this course, a learner will be issued with the following statement of attainment:

HLTAID011 Provide First Aids

Current industry standards recommend renewing this certification every 3 years with the CPR component being updated every 12 months.

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement: This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. The minimum age to attend a course without an adult is 14 years, and children between 10 years and 13 years of age can attend accompanied by an adult. There is no maximum age.
  • A written enrolment form.
  • Unique Student Identifier (USI)- every student must have a verified USI without which unit of competency will not be issued.
  • LLND test prior to enrolment. Applicant must demonstrate the language, literacy and numeracy required at least AQF level 2.
  • A Pre-Training Review prior to enrolment to determine the support needs of individual learners and provides access to the educational and support services necessary for the individual learner to meet the requirements of the training product.

(The LLND assessment is utilised to assess if a student has the ability to complete the training at the required level of competency and for TDT to assess the level of support required in this regard in order to provide the student with a reasonable opportunity to complete the unit of competency. The LLND assessment usually takes place during the pre-training review, where support needs are assessed and plans are put into place to achieve the best outcome for the student)

  • All students are provided with a range of learning support options and resources to help them achieve competency. This includes:

    • Support from appropriately qualified trainers including through phone and email contact details.
    • Classes, tutorials and workshops.
    • Online support and simulations.
    • IT support if needed.
    • Reasonable adjustments to assessment materials as required based on individual learning needs.
    • Referral to external support services such as the Reading Writing Hotline.
    • You may not have studied for a while, may have English as a second language or need additional assistance with literacy or numeracy. We will identify any additional support needs you may have at the time of application and enrolment and may prepare a Student Support Plan for you based on those needs.
    • TDT Training Australia aims to provide quality training and assessment services that comply with 2025 Standards for RTOs and will issue an AQF Statement of Attainment once you are deemed competent in this unit of competency.

  • You are required to have your own laptop with Office 365 (or similar program) to complete knowledge assessment task / Quizzes online.

  • All candidates are provided with advice on employment and training options throughout the delivery of the program.

    There are no pre-requisites to enrol in this unit of competency. Anyone who meets entry requirements can enrol in this unit of competency.

    Pathways from the unit of competency

    After attaining a statement of attainment, students may enrol in other First Aid units of competency (eg. HTLAID010 or HLTAID012)

  • To apply for this course, you are simply required to take up an LLND test and complete an enrolment form. You will be asked for a Valid USI number (Unique student Identifier) at the time of enrolment without which statement of attainment will not be issued.
