Theory: A Forklift Course learner guide is provided upon booking, and it must be read in order to complete the written theory and calculations assessments successfully.

Practical: Pre-Operational checks of forklift and working area, negotiating hazards, shifting loads, placing loads in and out of racking, loading & unloading trucks and shut down procedures.
Resources: Gas & Electric powered, automatic counterbalance forklifts. Reach Truck also available.

Licences are valid for 5 years in Victoria. After this time, you will need to renew them or retake the test.

The course is delivered across all TDT Training Australia Sites (Hallam, Bendigo, Sale, Sunshine and Ballarat)
Please remember to bring the following with you on the training day:
A valid form of photo identification (e.g driver’s license) and a secondary form of identification such as a bank card or a medicare card
Appropriate clothing for practical training (closed-toe footwear, long pants)

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a HRWL licence to operate this plant.
Forklift truck means a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachments that can be raised 900 mm or more above the ground, but does not include a pedestrian-operated truck or a pallet truck.
A person performing this work is required to hold a forklift truck High Risk Work Licence (HRWL).
This unit requires a person operating a forklift truck to:

(The LLND assessment is utilised to assess if a student has the ability to complete the training at the required level of competency and for TDT to assess the level of support required in this regard in order to provide the student with a reasonable opportunity to complete the unit of competency. The LLND assessment usually takes place during the pre-training review, where support needs are assessed and plans are put into place to achieve the best outcome for the student)

There are no pre-requisites to enrol in this unit of competency. Anyone who meets entry requirements can enrol in this unit of competency.

Important Information: Course duration/costs do not guarantee students will sit the on road licence test. To be eligible to test, students MUST first meet VicRoads criteria. If criteria are NOT met students will not be able to undergo the on road test and will continue to train for the duration of the course. Additional costs will apply if students book subsequent training and/or testing.
