RIIWHS302E – Implement traffic management plans

Program objectives:

This unit of competency provides the required skills and knowledge to interpret and implement traffic management planes to ensure the safety of construction and maintenance workers, as well as the general public.

Please note that Vic Roads requires all field staff with responsibility for setting out, implementing and/or monitoring a Traffic Guidance Scheme, as required by a traffic management plan, to have completed the RIIWHS302E – Implement traffic management plans unit of competency and to complete a refresher course every three (3) years.

The Job roles associated with this program:

Students may find themselves in operational roles within the civil construction, excavation, drilling and mining industries.

The entry requirements for this program are:

There are no entry requirements, however applicants must demonstrate at least a basic level of language, literacy, numeracy and communication skills. An LL&N assessment is conducted at pre-enrolment to assess if you require support in this regard.

It is also highly recommended that you complete RIIWHS205D control traffic with stop slow bat to obtain work in the industry.

The assessment methods include:

  • Demonstration of knowledge through written/oral answers and projects
  • Demonstration of workplace skills through practical assessment based on legislative and regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Assessment is against the National Standard, which applies in all states and territories

Delivery Mode:

Training will consist of face-to-face training activities and assessment in a classroom environment.  Projects and practical training will be given in a simulated or workplace setting by a qualified trainer and assessor. Students are provided with learning materials to develop knowledge, skills and understanding.

All training and assessment services are delivered by TDT Training professional industry trainers and fully accredited assessors.
